Hi guys,
I just joined this forum. I used to tie flies about twenty years ago and am starting to get back into it. I like the sounds of this vise. Does anyone have any contact information about the guy making it? I can't find it on Ebay.

Thanks.

Why do you think the screw are cheap?

What are the current made of? Nylon? Steel?

Which ones are the cheap ones?

Any one have any more news on the version 2 of this vise? I'm seriously considering it as a decent first vise.

Mine was delivered 2 days ago. I am a novice tier (well tied a fly last night) so will save my review but will answer any questions you may have or take pictures if you want

I really wanted to buy one. I liked the design and quality and the reviews were great (plus the price is great). What broke the deal for me was that it won't handle large flys. This isn't a complaint, the manufacturer is quite up front in saying it's good to size 2 and if you want bigger look elsewhere. So I did and wound up with a Griffin. But I can say if there had been a pair of saltwater jaws available I'd have bought one. If you mostly tie smaller flys this and the Peak would be the two I'd look at first. I like my Mongoose as its held steady on everything from a 10 to a 3/0, but for looks, build, price and ergonomics the Mayfly and Peak seem hard to beat.
