A Good Idea to make a Beetle Thread as it's amazing how many Beetle Patterns have come out of The Woodwork.
I make The Deer Hair Beetles as well as many others.
Another Beaut Pattern I'm waiting on in The Fly Swap is one of Silver's Ants.
It doesn't matter where or when you go there's always Ants & Beetles of all Shapes, sizes & colours around.

With the warmer winter we had here ants, beetles, and other non aquatics are going to be a big part of this season's fishing, atleast in my opinion. The Sulphurs have already started here and I think the hatches are going to peter off way earlier than normal. Which in a way is okay with me, in my experiences bigger fish seem more willing to take ant/beetles off the top compared to most of the fish raised during a hatch. Mind you this applies to the waters I fish, there's no doubt that more prolific hatches on better waters will get the big boys moving.

Hi all, this is my first post here. I thought that I would share a beetle that I use on a couple of local spring creeks in my region of Alberta along the east slopes of the Rockies. I hope you enjoy it.
