Default Doculator Fly

Just joined the club. Was looking for information on Doc Thompsons Doculator Fly and got directed to this forum. Great site! Looking forward to info. and flyfishing diss.

Hi fish breath,

I am not sure what you want to know about the Doculator Fly. Orvis sell them as single flies and in a selection. Here is what Orvis says about the selection: "Ideal for windy days and fast water. The Doc's low profile attracts more trout and aggressive strikes better than ordinary stonefly patterns.Our selection includes 9 flies: three brown, three orange, and three yellow, each in sizes 10, 12, and 14. Imported."

It looks pretty bulky to be great in the wind. If I was tying some for Trout I might try a brown body with the yellow wing and a black head.
