Default How to take all of my fly material on the go?

Im looking for a way to take all of my fly tying material with me to college. I dont have much I have 6 drawers that arent all full the drawers are about a foot long, 10" wide and 2 inches deep. Not much material. Mostly deer/elk hair, dubbings, hackles and phesant/turkey/misc feathers. Im looking for one container that it will all fit in but also allow me a little bit of organization.

Ive been to the craft store and to walmart but didnt see anything. The craft store had one little clear see-through container but it was $30. Walmart has some cheap stanley tool boxes that would probably work but I want something that will allow me to separate my hackle from the rest so it doesnt get damaged.

My teacher at school had a nice clear box that had a handle that would allow it to be carried like a brief case, it was a little big bigger that a wader box or boot box. In the bottom it was divided into two sections then you could add a couple smaller dividers for even more organization. The lid then had a 1" deep compartment that worked great for storing phesant tail and hackle. I cant find one of these but maybe someone can help?

My hooks and vise both have their own cases and fit perfectly in a plano fishing bag but I cant find anything for my material.

Craft stores have a great selection of clear plastic boxes for cheap, or the other route would be to kick out your roomie for more space.

So far Micheals and Jo-ans fabric didnt produce anything with decent size and a decent price. There was one that was a bit small but would have worked but it was $30 and Im not going to pay that for a piece of plastic that size, even the giant 10+ gallon ones at wally world are less than that.

Flambeau makes a product #430007 that is 16 inches long 9 1/2 wide and 3 inches deep, there 10 bucks at a no name sporting good store and hold a good bit. I don't know how much material you have but it might be a start, the company Flambeau calls it a TuffTainer. IMO you'll find a tyier never has enough space to store there materials.

Haha Ive noticed the lack of space, Ive seen the tying station threads here and you guys all have enough to open your own shops.

My collection for now is small. Its enough to tie all of the flies I fish except for a select few drys. Here is what I have not including my Chenile (Not much) and pheasant tails. Liter of Mtn Dew in the middle for a size comparison. And in all honesty the egg yarn will probably get left home.. I dont fish eggs and dont tie them often.

Clear plastic tubs seem to work for me.

Why not a small suit case for now. Probably get one at the Thrift Store for next to nothing.

On the less expensive side you could get a small gym bag from a discount or thrift store. Home Depot/Lowes have a few tool boxes or maybe Harbor Freight.
Soft side tackle boxes from Cabelas, Bass Pro, Sportsmans Warehous, Wallmart or KMart...
