Default An amazing woven-wire heptagenid nymph from Laurie

I collect flies from good tyers to have an example in front of me when I tie, it helps with proportions and humility.

I just received this wire heptagenid nymph from Laurie on this forum. The flat taper and regular segmented form of the woven wire abdomen is more than I can achieve at the moment.... but worth practising.

It is such a brilliant tie for the Stenonema nymph - if others are trying the wire woven nymphs - feel free to add your attempts - I am too challenged right now.....

A great fish catcher for sure

Gorgeous fly! Sure looks like a lot of fun to fish!

How do you go about tying that? Do you weave the wire just like you would with yarn or floss?

Off to google to try to see a step by step!

More than that I'll bet as I know you like the steelhead, and the Irish-style flies are fun to tie. Try some with a cdc underwing for fun fishing.
