A long time ago I was told not to use a fluoresent light for close work as it cycles on & off 60 times / sec. I've used a standard light since. I Got an "OTT" Light for a present a few years ago but I only use it for general bench area lighting for the above reasons. When I first tried to use one of those magnifier lights I found myself moving my head as I came around with the bobbin at first. Took a while to get used to it...
