The fly looks just great Eunan, don't worry over the hackle running out. Something I found with this style fly in general is that unless you make them in one of 2 ways they seem to ride on the side when you use them. Those 2 ways are as follow: tie very sparse with hackle so that the bottom of hook is not tremendously more dense than the top; or........dont worry so much about stroking all the hackles down for the 'look' and leave the entire fly in more of a balance; speaking hydro dynamically. Tying these can become habit forming as you will want to use the down mallard wing on every fly you tie.

Come t think of it, I should have said that for your first attempt at this style of fly you pretty well nailed the wing. Those are not as easy as they look. It took me a lot more than one try to get mine looking as good as yours did.
