Default playing around with tree rat skins

spent a brilliant day again on our local lake and even though it was a torrential down pour i managed to get this lovely 8lb fish, got home later to find my bleached tree rats came out just the right shade,also cured my hen skins ready for the shop.now to get another 12 chickens skinned this week

By the way that is not a rabbit under my hat LOL

Beautiful work all around; but you had me going with the Rat Skin comment. Not heard of their skins for fly tyeing; but why not?

I actually got a dead pet rat white and the fur is brilliant for dubbing

Good point. All the 'original' Atlantic Salmon patterns were first built from what was picked up out the barn yard (etc).

Looks like a very productive stretch there Laurie! Beautiful fish and the squirrel and hen skins look superb. The iridescence on those feathers is fabulous!
