Anyone know where I can get a proper barred ginger Indian or preferably chinese rooster cape. Domestic probably or ... ??
I am not inetersted in genetic feathers as they far too long and thin for my needs. Strung saddle is too fat so cannot go there.
I had a barred ginger cape that i have had for years that i used for tying crab patterns where two or two pair of splayed barred ginger hackles are used. Feathers coming from a ' lesser grade ' and smaller cape / bird also have that natural curve to them which is very desirable also.
Here is an exanple of a merkin with the splayed hackles : see the curve.

Any help woul be much appreciated.

When I noticed you mentioned a crab pattern, I purposely suggested a hen cape. I've used these quite a bit for 'claws', thought that's what you were after.
