Default Stripping Peacock Herl

Yes there are more than one way to strip peacock herl but here is one more

The instructions below assumes right handed tyers. left handed tyers opposite

Step 1. Put a hook in the vise and attach tying thread

Step 2. Tie on a peacock herl with the tip facing towards you

Step 3. This is the hardest step but easily accomplished. With your right hand applying downward pressure on the thread, begin pulling the herl toward you to strip off the fibers. this step may require some practice. The tip of the herl is the weakest link and will break under too much downward pressure of the thread. if that happens, just repeat the tie in and try again. It may also take 2-3 pulls of the herl to remove all of the fibers

Step 4. The end result will be a completely stripped peacock herl
