Default Need to buy Hooks

Where are you getting your hooks?
I'm looking for TMC or TMC types/numbers, but any brand will do. Just looking for a good bang for the buck. With winter coming it's time to stock up a bulk supply.

Allen fly fishing our illustrious member/merchant has nice hooks for a great price. I bought several sizes and styles and am pleased with them.

Thanks Yat.
I was pleased with those too. Last order I attempted he was out of most popular sizes and styles even though they were still on his drop down list so I was looking for another good source.

Hi Jimmie,

The Fly shop has a line of hooks with good prices. I have not used them but I think someone on the forum gave them a try and liked them. You might want to order a pack to see if you like them.

Default The Fly Shop hooks

I have only tried them in two forms. Their spey style steelhead irons which I didn't like all that much, there were a few hooks in the package that had soft spots in them and bent right over and seemed a little too meaty compared to Alen Jackson's or Partridges. Still they were a good deal I'm sure it was just an isolated defect. The other I used were the 2xl streamer hooks but I only used them in a shank capacity in place of Waddingtons for which they worked fine. I would say if you are tying alot of flies go with their hooks, for the number of hooks you get you cant beat the price. If your only tying a handful to replace patters go with the TMC or Diiachi. Also I just want to say I'm not trying to "bash" The Fly Shop at all I get alot of gear through them and they are a great and helpful shop.
