My first fly was the infamous "Wooly Bugger". I was so proud of it I went down to the local craft shop and bought a small window box to dispaly it in. It is still sitting on my desk.

I tied a Caddis pattern on a Mustad 3906B Hook in 1975 that I dragged through Lone Pine Creek in the Eastern Sierras: Green Floss body, Peacock thorax, Moose hair wing (black)...I actually caught one fish on it. The pattern description came from a ring bound Northwest Fly pattern book with suggested ties for over 2500 flies. It resides in one of my wet fly boxes...
