Great looking tailwater box! looks like purple has been good to you, and glad to see some 'winter warriors' in there too. I'm curious to see how they do on the Blue, but I know they work on the front range. The rubber leg CJ's should be killer as well.

@s. fontinalis
Who would have guessed something called a 'sparkle maggot' could be so pretty?! Can't wait to have one! My swap flies will ship this afternoon.
Not a fast tier at all just usually spend an hour in the evening tying up a doz or so. As far as the purple, yes I tied that purple with gold ribbed variation of the poison tung a while back. First time out I landed almost 20 fish in a few hour period so I grew fond of it real quick. For some reason I have good luck with the blue / purple colorations. I guy I fish with who ties alot always says blue is the new olive

Avs, that box is a BEAUTY. As a big fan of nymphing, I could see myself buying that box for more than $300... put one up on Ebay for 500 with a full listing of flies and just a pure quantity count, maybe even a simple math breakdown and I bet you'll see some interest. I'm likely going to be looking at that box in the future just for tying ideas, especially that poison tung...

As far as that fly swap goes, I picked up some tungsten beads for the Frenchies yesterday, some issues got in the way of me tying before and I'm now in the process of moving, but a dozen of those little guys comes together pretty quick so hopefully they'll be headed out soon...

Or just fill the box with half as many flies. Instead of including 6 of each, do 3. That puts it down in a much more 'atainable' price range.

AJ - where are you moving to now? that probably explains the lack of text message replys :P

I need to tie some more stuff soon for my trip next weekend. Hopefully some meat to chuck at staging browns.

Actually the lack of text message replies are because my phone took a dunk the other day! It is a high-priced brick at the moment, should have a replacement by this afternoon! Yay chucking meat at meat-eating browns... hopefully that will be the case for me on Friday.

Been experimenting with Frostbite braided tinsel. And Gold dubbin. Also figured out how to improve camera close ups. I like the last one best. Body really has a buggy look and feel I think. Used round silver tinsel and stripped grizzly hackle for the wrap. I tied then on size 10 and 8 streamer hooks.

Guys: Very nice work, now that it is getting colder each day I'm getting motivated to fit the tying vice and seeing all these great patterns just adds fuel to the fire!
