I tied up a dozen Rojo Midges after reading an article on the Midge Manifesto's site that got me inspired. I'm planing a trip to fish the Green below Flaming Gorge and this has been a very good pattern in the past.

I also tied a few of JP's Flying Moth patterns, going to hit the Green here in town to see if they are effective here or not. JP says I need to have a fuller body, but I will fish these as they are, just out of curiousity.

The other day I was viewing a video on the Forget-me-not midge that was using Amnesia for the body material, it looked kind of interesting so I ordered a roll of Amnesia to give it a try. I can't wait to see how this unusual midge pattern fishes. Here is the video if your interested:

Thanks wt
I have never been overly conventional especially with fly tying
Just so many different materials colors and combinations
I cant resist breaking out of the box

Hey my regal did the same thing! Not as big of a chunk but the jaws blew apart last fall. they replaced them but the new jaws arent anywhere near as strong as the old ones. unfortunitly they are a NIGHTMARE to get a hold of.

I really hope that the replacements that Renzetti gets me don't give me any problems. I've heard of problems with some jaws breaking, but I'd never seen any even near as bad as this.

Depending on how Renzetti treats me will determine where I take my future business. The lady I spoke with on the phone wasn't very pleasant to be very honest. Time will tell though. The jaws are going out in the mail today. Hopefully I'll hear from them by Monday.

Very nice. I agree, wooly buggers are hard to beat, especially this time of year.

I spotted a video by Tightline Productions on tying the Serendipity pattern using a stripped hen hackle body that looked pretty interesting so I tied a few of these up in size 20 for my trip down to the Green river below Flaming Gorge.
