A few crawfish flies for smallmouth and largemouth. One with hen back feathers for the pinchers, the other using short rabbit strips in barred burnt orange.

I found this pattern in Jack Ellis's "Bassin' with a Fly Rod", he calls it a "Grinnel Fly". He says its his most effective pattern in natural, olive, and black. I've never tied/fished this particular pattern, but I have had luck with rabbit strip divers so I thought I'd give this a try. It looks really "bassy" to me. It has a thin 4" rabbit strip tail and a smallish deer hair head with 4 mm doll eyes. Its hitting 70 degrees this weekend in NorCal, hoping top water season isn't far away now...
