What have you been tying today?

Well tonight was the frat night tying flies and man am I enjoying it! Yes I know my flies look terrible!! But hey it's my first night and I'm solo tying haha here's a few pictures.

Tied a few copper johns and some eggs also tried a prince nymph

Here's some more I tied just a few minutes ago. Figured I'd tie some bass flies being I just got a new 8wt rod and summer is almost here





Please keep in mind this is my second day tying flies so don't be to harsh lol

You are doing fine! I honestly would not have known you had just started tying flies by looking at those streamers- they look like someone with a lot more experience tied them.

On the copper johns and prince nymphs, make certain you tie your biots in shorter. But your ties are looking good!

well thanks! thats good to hear i love tying those big fury flies haha..maybe tomorrow wont be wind like it is today and i can try them out. i still need to work on the deer hair spinning and what not a little more to get it more even.

and thanks for the tips on the biots i will make those changes when i tie some more.

Thanks tbblom! And my local fly shop owner said he didn't recommend spinning deer hair for someone just starting but I really like the look of it. So I went for it anyways haha.. And Ted nice fly! Dang that sucker is huge!!!

since new Practical Patterns video was posted i couldnt help but tie 1/2 dozen of them . sz.16 (only size of hooks i have for emergers right now)

had to use squirrel tail fibers for tail and didnt have UV stuff so just used little head cement on the body
it also says its mainly East Coast pattern, but im going to give it a try here in CO
