H&L Variant...House and Lot.... Ike's Fly. I like to wing 'em down-wing, Big Springs Snake River Trude style. Normally the fly is tied with up-right and divided white caftail wings.

Ike.. (34th Pres. of the United States.. Eisenhower) fished the H&L on the "Millionaires Flat" of the Harriman Ranch, Snake River...very selective, educated trout ?

Great fly, calftail. I've always liked it but never tied it, which is odd because I tie way too many flies based on looks that I then rarely fish. I like the down wing, good idea.
