Thanks, I think they are a 12 or 14 scud hook. Pretty small.

No laughing, this is my first go tying and I'm just going to work my way through Charlie Cravens "Basic Fly Tying" and it has you start off with the brassie so the first pic is my first try and where I stopped for the day Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.

Not too good, I'm having a hard time wrapping the wire consistently where I don't leave gaps.

Also, like my tissue background so I could get the dang camera to focus

Ryan your doing great! What I really like is the vise and clip holder your using. Same as mine. You'll get the hang of the camera. Try taking a pic outside in the natural light.

I took the liberty of cropping your image so you don't get all the noisy backround. You can edit your pics in either your photo gallery or in photobucket. Play around with the edit feature and see what it can do for your eye.

Tie your wire in at the thorax and wrap the wire downward. Wire lays easier when it's not wound over thread plus then you can wrap back towards the top to give your wire body segmentation.

Thanks! I'll give it a try tomorrow. I appreciate all the help.
