sort of a sculpin pattern but done with blue fox, red wire rib and floss collar. Body is antron dubbing.

Double bunny has two strips of hide/hair top and bottom. this only has one with the front tag end wrapped around to create the collar.

As I have some salmon irons laying about, I figured I would use some of the JC eyes that David so graciously sent me and butcher a salmon fly... I did not follow any pattern, and just rather worked from my imagination. Here's the result:

Suitably butchered indeed! When the head cement dried on the underside of the head of the fly, it became cloudy, which is very bothersome (not that it's the only mistake on the fly...).

Awesome looking work. Hopefully i can achieve similar results once i get some more experience.

I have been working my way through the "8 popular flies" in the tying book that came with my Orvis starter kit. The Hare's Ear Nymph made me want to throw the fly out the window a couple times.

I was planning on finishing the ones in the book and then trying out a bull trout streamer of dry fly of some sort. I have a problem with breaking the thread when i am using the whip finishing tool.

I ended up getting the Peak rotary vise. Love it. Huge improvement over the vise that came with the kit.
