I'll say you had a great day tying Rick, plus some extra productivity finishing up the swap! No pictures needed, and who knows, we might be seeing new tiers in this forum just from those inspired by the demo day!

Bellyaches work great!
The original uses a heavy tungsten belly to keep the hook riding up.
Almost all of my bigger fish this winter were taken on a natural/grizzly bellyache minnow. I have tied a few larger versions with dumbell eyes too on 2/0 hooks for pike or musky (we'll see...)

Here is my 'staple' version that works best around here in slow water and lakes, gamakatsu sc15 #4 hook, med. tungsten belly:

Neat beetle! Look forward to being able to fish dries soon...

The last week has seen wets for me though, first two variations of double-bead stones and then a big Robinson's Munchable Minnow, as detailed in Mike Schmidt's second tying DVD.

nice munchie - is that the pumpkin seed colorway? On the Steelhead alley blog there is listing for 5 different colors! i tied the steelie blue one a while back and think i posted it in this thread, and i've been meaning to do the others, but the wets have taken over my life, in a good way!

I just made due with what I have really, but now that I'm looking its close to the goby variant. I really want to try out that Little Steelie variant now. Just going to have to pick up every color of laser dub and a bunch of new zonker colors... Rabbit hatch!

look at the blog, i think when Patrick Robinson tied it he listed ice dub in front of the laser dub, bit more sparkle too! a box of all colors will look sweet
