Those are very nice flies! This may come as a surprise to many but I've never tied anything like these flies shown. My tying has always been Catskills style dry flies and the fancy Maine style feather wing streamers. By the late 70's I became interested in salmon fishing and began making the fancy salmon flies. By the 90's I focused on salmon & steelhead patterns while keeping my dry fly boxes stocked as well. Now, here in Alaska I have little need for my tiny dry flies and I tie all salmon and steelhead flies.

I am going to learn how to tie Intruders and some of the other new style flies this winter and have considered taking a class on this new style of tying at a fly shop in town. I'm pretty good at fancy flies but feel sort of behind the times because I don't even know where to start when it comes to making salt water or the new fresh water patterns.

Nice work Paymaster,

Ard

Most of my fishing is done in the Chattahoochee river here in GA north of Atlanta. Here are two of my most productive flies.
