If this was question for me ,than by thick thread I meant something that would not take ages to build up the body of fly.Embroidery floss is just fine.
You can use polypropylene yarn if you want.Doesnt matter. Epoxy will protect it

My take on the royal coachman Hairwing. I know this pattern exists, but i didnt search for a materials list, so any similarity to established patterns is purely coincidental

Materials
Thread: Red
Hook: TMC 7999 #2
Tail: GP Tippets
Body in thirds: Peacock Ice dub, red ultra wire (LG), peacock ice dub
Wing: White Arctic Fox Guard Hairs
Hackle: GP body feather dyed claret
Head: Red

I tied some stuff I havent done in a long time, flies for trout!! haha.

i tied some size 14/16 beadhead pheasant tails and hares ears. Then I tied a couple big articulated things, circus peanuts and heifer gommer type things.
