I used some of my daughters cat hair for dubbing, haven't got to try them out but I think they will work. Basically like a pheasant tail nymph except abdomen is the cat hair.

Thanks gents - great little flies. Tie them for BWO, PMDs etc
Quick, durable (drop of cement under the biot) and present really well. Almost never tie wings on small dries. Would love to try the rivers of Ireland, which might happen one day if we don't fall off the fiscal cliff!

Well earlier this week as I was getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stream, I quick did a double check of my equipment. It had been a while since I had been out trout fishing. Well, everything was good to go, except my main fly box. I thought for sure it was in a my new gear bag... nope. Fly tying desk? No. In my waders, or one of my fly vests? Nothing. It obviously grew legs and walked away. So unfortunately, my last few days has been spent starting a new box essentially from scratch. What a bummer. Tying hares ears, pheasant tails, scuds, and brassies is work for November and December, NOT the last week of September. However, after a few solid hours of tying this week, I've finally managed to put together a respectable box that should last me through tomorrows day of trout fishing before I go chase musky in Northern Wisconsin.

How many of you have ever lost a fly box?

Been tying quite a few Blue Dunns lately in size 20-22. The trout on the smaller creeks I been fishing really seem to like them. Sorry about the poor cell phone image quality...really need to invest in a real camera one of these days lol.

Id like to thank wovenstonefly for the flies, many made it into my box and the rest will be stripped and given new life, these three flies were tied on some of those hooks and will be swung for atlantic salmon in my home river, and in the margaree river next week in nova scotia
