Default Flies for the Huron River in SE Michigan

I will be in the Pinckney, MI area July 29-Aug. 11th and thought about hitting the Huron. What sort of flies should I be thinking for smallmouth bass? Also, if there are any hatches around that time? I'll have all the forms of Hexagenia my vest though my reading suggests I may be a little late for that hatch. Can anyone confirm?

I do have a Chernobyl Ant I'm working on. Also, buggers galore as well as a crayfish imitation.

would not want to be on the Huron with out some Chartreuse-White clouser minnows in different sizes, bright purple seems to work well on brighter days also, I have been having good luck in resent years downriver closer to Dexter-Ann Arbor area
Good Luck

Dexter-AA area is a good place to fish, the flies you mentioned will work. The Hex will be hatching in that area at the time you will be there, also the Ephorons. Tye up some Helgrammite imitations, McMurray has a simple pattern for them in his Smallmouth book.

Thanks for the posts. This is exactly the information I need. We don't have much in the way of smallmouth bass here in Kansas, so some time on the Huron will be great.

Thanks again!
