Attention Steelheaders!!!!!!!

Calling all steelheaders in the Great Lakes Region. Whats your favorite:

1. Bodie of water ( Please define State)
2. Technique
3. Flies (If ya don't mind, LOL)
4. Rod wt.
5. Time of year

Mine would have to be:

1. Ashtabula, OH
2. Sight Fishing ( the A. gets to warm and dosen't have enough H2O to support the eggs/fry, so sight fishing is not doin' harm to the fishies.)
3. Globugs, Nymphs
4. 7wt.
5. Winter ( makes the trips so much sweeter when those fish are the only available. Winter rehab. LOL)
Lookin' forward to the interesting replies. And if ya don't live in the Great Lakes region but fish it, go ahead and post.

Tight Lines and frozen Globugs,

Steelhead Junkie.

Dan

I'm with you on the V, although this year it was real spotty, I did better on some Grand Tribs due to high water.

I much prefer either swinging a spey fly in a tailout or fishing dark water around gravel then fishing visible fish. But If I see em, I catch em.

Senyo's Sculpin, SZ 12-14 nuke eggs, White Czech nymphs, almost all indicator except when I'm swinging streamers.

I'm using an 11 1/2" Switch rod for almost all my steelie fishing.

Early Spring-winter. Fall is tough on the west erie tribs, better in the east. I love fall in MI, IF I can get a boat ride.
