Question about WISCO

I just started fly fishing in Wisconsin (The St. Croix) area (as I am a college student at UWRF), I live literally two blocks from the Kinnickinic river, is that stream any good? and are their any other good streams or areas in my area?

:D
Thanks, Nick P

Re: Question about WISCO

I've heard specacular things about the kinny. I also have heard great things about the Rush river, not to far from you... mostly of the Rush's smaller feeders, like cave, and lost creek. I have never fished this area, but am anticipating this summer's adventuring which will hopefully bring me near. Check this out.

Nope not mine, just a really lucky stumble. I was wondering about that area as well, so I decided to look into the smaller stuff around you. Will enjoy hearing about what you find if you decide to explore some of it! :D

Re: Question about WISCO

The Kinnickinnic is amazing. Last summer just below the campus my buddy and I caught 6 browns 12" or better in one good hole; the best was 20". You just gotta hike in at least half a mile to get to the areas with low pressure to have the best results, though.

The hardware store on main street sells an amazing selection of fly gear, and has a couple very knowledgable employees. Ask the guys at the counter if they fly fish. If they don't, they can tell you when the guys that do will be working.
