Hi dirkdigler,

Try this site for some good information fishing Woolly Buggers for Steelhead. You are lucky to have summer run Steelhead in your area. I would stick with streamers and wet flies. In Alaska egg patterns are good for Steelhead and you might try some in your area. I have posted three of my favorite Steelhead flies. The Burlap is my favorite Alaska fly. I have not fished these flies in your area. When I was fishing Michigan the Steelhead were few and far between. It is great that they are doing so well today.

nice flies....I will have to try them. Fall and spring a good egg works great. also a JBS works well also...I am just wondering if those would work on summer steel and also get some new ideas. How do you post a pic and I will post them....once again, thank you for the help.

Hey dirkdingler,

I assume your summer run are fish returning to the river to spawn and not just migrating to the lakes. If they are spawning then an egg pattern should work fine. What is a JBS?

To post a picture it has to be on the Internet where you can link to it. Many pictures posted on the Internet will let you link to their photos. Just use your copy and paste commands. If you have your own pictures you have to have a web site that lets you post pictures. You would post your picture at that web site and then copy and paste it to your message here. This web site has a gallery but they won't let us post to it. That is too bad and a weakness of this site.
