I shouldn't be sarcastic about this winter, since we did have some ice in the guides all day long... but today was just marvelous. Temperatures hovering right around 25* in the afternoon, not much wind at all, and full sun shine. It was gorgeous!
Streamers and nymphs all day long. We started the day out fast, catching fish right off the bat. It didn't stop there. About 2.5 miles of quality stream covered, and we ended up with ~30 fish to hand, and MANY more lost to poor hooksets or short strikes.
Here are a few pictures of my fishing buddy, who caught most of the fish today. I was pretty much just in charge of making sure the camera was ready every 2 minutes!
This trout didn't like the idea of the net!
Oh yeah, I was there too just not as busy catching fish. Here's one that I squeezed in though.
He was not going to be outdone. This continued the rest of the afternoon, until we left the stream at about 5 pm.
