Default Au Sable River In Early Nov.

Hello All: Got a real rookie question from a Flatlander from Northern Illinois: I'm looking for some advice on fly fishing the Au Sable River in early Nov, for example, I would like to stay in Grayling and then fish the great river-what advice for locations to stay over-night at and locations on the Au Sable that I can access via park-hike and then wade in the water. I do have the Michigan Maps map of the Au Sable. Thanks in advance.

There's plenty of places to stay in Grayling. Nice northern Mich town. Plenty of places to eat. And lots of places to fish. Out of grayling you can also fish the upper Manistee River. Not far from there.

Fishing the Upper Manistee and the Au Sable near Grayling you avoid the Salmon/steelhead craziness. If you fish below Tippy dam you will be waist deep in craziness-and fish-but unless you are involved in mma fighting better off going for browns In the upper stretch.
