Default Trout opener is tomorrow....

So where you going to fish???

I'm debating between the Jordan and the Holy Waters (never fished either)
But just moved to traverse city in march. So I can go just about anywhere. South east or west.

Sadly I won't be...But, when I can get "up north" it will be in the Pine just north of Oscoda. There is something to be said for being able to catch a Steelhead, Brown, Rainbow, and Brook all in the same stretch of water, all in 1 day, simply by fishing then driving upstream a little.

Tomorrow is Friday, not Saturday. As far as Saturday goes, it's not looking good. Most back country roads are still buried under snow with lakes covered in ice. The rivers that you can get to are high from the thawing. I can only hope at this point. Of course I'm talking the Northern U.P.

It's not THAT bad here. Steelhead are still fishing well on the PM and the Manistee

We have a few rivers up here open year round; but, they are starting to flood and move some water. Being accessible, there is usually someone there fishing.

we are getting rain today and again tomorrow. I might wait until mid week or next weekend for the levels and color to drop a bit.

It marks the day you can keep your trout. Depending on the river and the rivers classification. Also, some rivers are closed to fishing until the opener date. which is the last Sat of April.
I usually throw them back but sometimes its nice to have fresh grilled trout dinner.
