Default Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Has anyone here fished in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore?

I am planning a backpacing trip opening weekend, ( April 30 ) but I know nothing about the rivers, what the fish are biting on, are Steelies running, etc.

If there is anyone that can give me some direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

there are VAST opportunities for fishing in that region of the Upper Peninsula. I guide all throughout the U.P. Steelhead run smaller (mostly) on the Lake Superior watersheds but they can be found in many rivers. You have countless Brook Trout streams in the area as well. Obviously in Lake Superior you can catch Cohos, Lakers and even the occasional Coasters.

JS, streams are still pretty high on the opener, was thinking about making a run north myself, but was thinking backpacking, fishing the Porucpines, where you coming from.
