Default Chicago Area Ideas

It looks like the first week in June will find me in Chicago, the Lincoln Park area to be exact, with a few idle days on my hands. Idle days usually translate to fishing so I'm looking for ideas and opportunities within an hour or two of the city. Any suggestions?

THANKS!!!!!!

I would look into heading up towards the St. Joseph area in Michigan. I think it is not too far and there are some nice streams there.

If it were me i'd tack on another hour in travel time and head to SW Wisconsin. (2.5 to 3 hours)

You can find a handful of nice creeks within a half hour radius of Madison. If your willing to go another half hour west...the choices and fishing improves dramatically.

Two hour out of the city heading to Michigan isn't going to buy you much...especially coming from the north side of Chicago. There are a couple little creeks around the Niles area that are okay and have access. The problem is with a lot of those urban(ish) creeks is access...and the law is on the landowners side. If you really want to fish Michigan in my opinion you need to drive at least 3 to 4 hours from Lincoln Park.

You can find some decent tributary fishing in and around Muskegon, an hour north east of there Baldwin in another option and you can get into some really nice fishing.

(i would go to Wisconsin...it'll make your life a lot easier)

Sep,

It sounds like you should plan your stay in Michigan and travel to Lincoln Park when you need to. Joke, it's a joke...............
