Default Rain Fish Fun

I know this is a fly fishing area but when I got to the lake I forgot my Flies!!!!so I had to goto my spinning grear... well enjoy

So... I went up to Silver Springs state park in Yorkville, Armed with my fly rod and looking for nice bluegills. Well didnt go that way First forgot my flies, Stepped out of my car and freaking started to downpour. I put on my rain gear then got my ultralight set up texas rig with a 4 inch crawbug... and the rest is history... over 25 fish today what a day..

Beautiful fish! I would love to have a day like that sometime soon! I've always been told that fish bite better when its raining. I have always had pretty good luck when it is lightly raining too. (Don't really have any rain gear so it kind of limits my opportunities). lol
Sounds like you had a great day! Good job!

I love to see great pics of fish. I use a long purple bunny strip leach pattern for bass with a touch of black marabou that works really well.

It was inspired by the purple worm that I used when fishing my local lake as a kid. I always remember it woring when all else failed!!!

Great shots.
