It very well could be. Does the rod list a "weight" or intended species/use? Impossible to tell its grain window just from its length.

The grain size will also depend on what type of line you are planning on using. For instance, the rod may take a 520 skagit, but a 420 scandi. Similarly, it may take a 520 scandi but a 600 skagit. It may also take a standard switch line.

In case you weren't aware of it before, switch and spey rods (in general rods over 10') will not take lines of the rods weight rating. This is why switch and spey lines are generally cataloged by grain weight.
