Default Coffee....

While I'm sitting here enjoying a cup of some of Alaska's finest I thought I'd pass on some info about it.

Pam's parents finally drove to Alaska this summer after years of dreaming about making the long trek. They spent 3 months seeing the sites and taking it all in.
I believe they had even seen Ard as they told me of a tall, ruggedly handsome man catching fish after fish with no one else doing the same. I thought to myself that MUST have been Ard.

Anyway, they came across a coffee shop just down the road in Wasilla and decided to stop for a cup. While there they broused the shelves looking for a blend or two that they thought Pops and I would enjoy as he relayed his stories of the trip to me.(he and I are the only coffee drinkers in the family). They found a few to bring home and one especially made them think of me, it's called 'The Outhouse Blend', I'm not sure as to why they thought of me when they found it , but in any case I am very glad they did.
If you want something new and very good, order a pound or two and give it a try. http://www.tundracoffee.com/
Look under 'medium roast' for the 'Outhouse Blend' to get a brief description.
I think I will be ordering some very soon, mine's almost gone.

We're coffee lovers at my house. Already put the site in "favorites", and plan to order some. Thank You.
This will have to be my official fishing trip coffee.

Fysh,

Thank you for the compliment. Some days it is like that, other days the mans wife catches all the fish. I think you know how that works? I have not had the Outhouse blend but if you are looking for stocking stuffers check out [ravensbrew.com] they have some of the most interesting blends of coffee I have ever tried.

Sounds like a coffee I'd like to try! I've been brewing "Backdraft Roast" from Carrabassett Coffe http://www.carrabassettcoffee.com/ in Maine for quite a while but i'm ready to stock up on my winter supply.

The best I've found is Ruta Maya's Medium Roast. I was quite surprised and pleased to find it at my local Costco for about $8/lb. Its very smooth stuff but has a good chocolately flavor, low acid, and high caffeine content. I grind and french press a load daily.

Quote:
Ruta Maya Coffee Company was founded in 1990 in Austin, Texas on the simple premise of creating a marketplace of superior products produced in Latin American countries and to return to the producers of those products a fair portion of profits generated. The Ruta Maya guiding principle is "Oportunidades para las Americas" (Opportunities for the Americas).

Ruta Maya imports 100 percent organic Arabica coffee beans shade-grown by cooperatives of farmers in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. The perfect altitude paired with the amazing richness of the land and the knowledge of traditional Mayan farmers produce a perfect coffee bean. Our Ruta Maya Brand Coffee is handpicked and brought to you fresh daily so every customer can be a part of this sustainable development project.
