Default Fish poisioned from the sky in Montana?

GRANTS PASS, Ore. – A federal judge in Montana has ordered the Bush administration's top forestry official to explain why he should not be held in contempt of court for the U.S. Forest Service's failure to analyze the environmental impact of dropping fish-killing fire retardant on wildfires.

Norman Maclean's son is actually an expert on wildfire's, I'll be checking to see if he weighs in on the issue.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.

That's pretty sad. Not knowing, but If I were a betting man, I'd say that the decision to use the fish-killing fire retardant was made entirely by the upper echelon. I know a few U.S. Forest Service employees in my region that are highly conscientious of the environment, streams and fish included. One of them is in the law enforcement division of the USFS and is adamant about protecting wildlife and executing enforcement action upon violators. I hope that the "genius" who approved this method is held in contempt.
