Talking Believe It ?

Remember in the old Outdoor Life magazines there was a regular comic strip type piece called "This Happened to Me" ?
This would fit perfectly

The eternal sceptic, me, would put THAT cartoon right next to the photo of the fisherman with outstretched arms, explaining that "It was THIS big!!!!"

Hmmmmm... Was he enjoying the beverage Whiskey Flats was named after on this trip?

Kind of reminds me of "The Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly" story. What he didn't know was that a fly went into his backpack first. A spider went in after the fly. A mouse went after the spider. The lion went after the mouse. The bear went after the lion. Too bad he didn't hang in there a little longer, maybe bigfoot would have gone after the bear!

I did look forward to that comic in outdoor life every month when I was a kid.

Hi Paul,

I would not doubt that this could occur but the 'Patty Cake' thing is disturbing to me. That brings back haunting images of 'The Grizzly Man'. You remember him right? "Oh look, here comes Mr. chocolate" the guy thought touching bears was cool and we know how that all went.............

I was OK with this guys tale until I got there.

Paul- i remember those cartoons very well and all the other stuff like Tap's Tips that used to be in the monthly outdoor magazines very well.

I'm with you Ard, teaching a bear cub to high five doesn't sound too bright. Next thing you know we'll have bears throwing gang signs ....

How about Argosy? Always a choice of the same four cover articles: Nazis, Treasure, and bear/shark attack.
