+1; it's pretty unusual to have Ard out of touch for this amount of time. Anything new?

Allan: I talked with Ard on the phone yesterday. He is doing fine, still out at the cabin, mainly cutting down trees in the front yard. He is trying to create a view of the lake and at the same time hoping to cut down on the mosquitos this coming summer. The clear cut area will provide more sunlight and help with the breezes which the mosquitos don't like. I think he said he had 2-3 more trees to fall and skid up toward the house, some will go for firewood for next winter and the rest will be used to build a shed and new outhouse. I think he said there is a possiblity of coming into town at the end of the week, but Nancy might come out to the cabin instead.

Thanks for the update Larry, glad to hear he's doing well. Sounds like he's keeping himself busy and might be in need of a vacation by the time he gets back.

Please pass along my well wishes the next time you speak with him.

Ard is definitely keeping busy. He talked about not needing a BowFlex to keep in shape.....we both had a good laugh. Cutting and skidding all those trees certainly takes a lot of work. I'll definitely pass along your well wishes.

I missed a call from Ard yesterday, returned it this afternoon.

He's having some mechanical issues with the log splitter, and today his generator is giving him fits, he's been on the phone with customer support about the generator and is getting no help coming from them.
The log splitter has been sent back to Wasilla. Both are U.S. made products and needless to say....he's not real pleased about it.

The aforementioned issues brought us a conversation about offshore manufactured rod blanks too, we both agreed there is nothing wrong with Korean made blanks.

On a good note, he got some good shots of the recent Northern Lights events.
