Looking at some rod blanks today I came across a nice pink one. I thought 'That would make a nice gift.'
Then I slapped myself upside the head a couple times.
After slapping myself, I could think clearly again and decided I liked living way too much to do something that stupid.

My wife and I decided not to swap gifts this year. But, this morning I had a panic attack and decided I better get the obligatory dozen roses. She's a real catch and I was about to drop some serious coin on an early 40-year bday present to myself.

She never tries to persuade me (wink wink) to curb my gear quests and fishing trips.

She's either cheating on me or loves me very much.

I broke my own record for speed-shopping yesterday. Walked up to a popular ladies clothing store, liked what I saw in the window, said "I'll take one of those in a medium," handed over the debit card, the item was placed in a nice box, and I'm out of the store in less than five minutes. Walked over the nice grocery store next door to get a six pack, grabbed a beautiful Valentine card (two people in a tent with their feet hanging out) on my way to the check stand and it's a done deal.

SGF - I was a little disappointed not to hear from you on the bourbon thread. I'm looking for your expertise.

I don't like valentines day, too much hype. Still I'll need to get the wife a card and flowers or my life will be miserable
