Great pics so far!

I mostly do warm water so these won't be as scenic but I'll do it anyways.

Lots of people far more qualified to speak up for my neck of the woods, but as I haven't seen anyone else do so as yet:

Yo Wilker!

I have been there. Lived in Brevard for 6 years back in the early/late 90s. Fished all over Pisgah and Shining Rock.

The main and tribs of the Pigeon above 4500 ft. Oh yeah. Dark Prong ring a bell? Greasy Cove?

Then discovered smallies lower down and been a junkie ever since but brookies are special.

Nope, no fish at all up there — nuthin' but mean-ass hornets, man-killing wild boars, snakes as long as your leg, and banjo-pickin' moonshiners straight out of Deliverance. ;-)

Seriously though, I love that area beyond all measure — I grew up in New England, and I couldn't live down here in kudzu country without being able to escape to what feels like the Maine Woods in about 45 minutes.

Caught my first "mountain" trout on the fly rod at this lake over the summer:

Tried some here, but didn't catch anything

Back in Nebraska, this is the pond I learned to fish on. It is a nice, secluded, secret spot, but lately it can be extremely tricky. There are still plenty of nice fish in it.

Here's another puddle of a farm pond that I fish.

This one is also close to home, but it's a public lake. Good for the occasional catfish and bass, though it is tougher fishing for bass than a lot of lakes here. It's stuffed with little green sunfish, and though I throw the fly here from time to time I usually try for catfish using the sunfish as bait.

And this one just because (it's close to some of the lakes I fish, so it counts, right?)
