We got up to -12, and 48,000 of my neighbors were without power for 5 hours.
Schools closed, traffic snarled, and then, everything slowly went back to normal.
Prolly not doing much fishing this week. My office is across the street from the falls on the Snake River, and the water is all white and hard.
It would be a yassoff day on the river today.
You know, I'd freeze my yassof. So, I'll stay indoors, watch something funny on TV, and laugh my yassoff instead !

Your weather from MT and ID is heading this way... we've gotten 20+ inches of snow over the past couple days, and Fri and Sat are predicted for a high of zero and low of -15 deg... big fun.
To make things more pleasant the power was out in our area for a couple hours tonight, but the power company guys did a nice job of getting things fixed pretty quickly.

Where are you smarty? I don't mind the cold, I actually kind of like it, but when power goes out, pipes start bursting and car batteries just freeze then its not fum anymore. It can be serious.

Didn't a bunch of livestock freeze to the ground in N Dakota a couple years back? That is a tough place. I can't help but think about the pioneers when the weather gets extreme like this.

The lakes are all frozen but it was 52 today! But this is PA so it will probably be 5 below for the weekend!Comedian Jeff Foxworthy says it all to well " You know your Pennsylvanian if youve worn shorts and a parka at the same time or if you have switched from heat to A/C in the same day and back again!

Hey Dean,
It's almost 5 in the morning and it's warmed up to minus 7 up here north of Great Falls. It was down around minus 15 Wed night.

I sense a warming trend.

Hear you; we bottomed out at 11.1 this AM. But given how far south Medford is from the 'North Pole' that's damned cool.

It was 67 here yesterday...27 this morning. Waiting on the weather and hoping that the ice doesn't come.
