I'm sure your new boy will be home soon. A few years from now, this little medical issue will just be a memory. What a great time to be alive. Medicine has come a long way, and what use to be a life threatening illness, is just a treatable little speed bump.
So, what kind of rod and reel did you get for Cole ?
Wife 1.0 thought I was nuts when I started wrapping his first fly rod when he was 3 months old. Wife 2.0 and her son on his first trip (in my drift boat), off on a total 13 year old rant .... met his Father and looked into his eyes ... nothing behind?
(Leave names out of this) WOULD YOU SHUT THE FUXK UP, LOOK AT YOUR ROD YOU HAVE A FISH ON!
King Salmon on the Chetco River, we chased that bug ger for close to 5 river miles but into the net.
That night the fish was on the barbie at the RV park, pot luck for the rest, he was the 'King of the Hill.'
Best question I've ever been asked?: 'Are we
going fishing tomorrow?' "Boy, you can bet your sweet A$$ on that one." We blanked, but that's fishing. Upside: He got pretty good, on the oars, running a drift boat. I FINALLY got to fish.
Edit: Good young fellow, great choice of wife, two Grand Daughters, start was a 'blind date' at the Companies Xmas party ...'I'm not going ... GET SOME PROPER CLOTHING ON AND YOU ARE! Even then I was a 'Crugmushin' when it came to BS. Two sets of 'Parents' knew better. ;>)
