Default Re: What do you do with the old not used patterns?

I have 3 cigar boxes stuffed with flies waiting to be stripped
To look into one of these boxes is like viewing years of successes and failures.
Flies that are thread bare from use, and those that are more like...What was I thinking?

I'm pretty good at recycling my saltwater flies
You can easily spot the hook sizes that you're looking for and a lot of the material is still good

I make a foam popper for the salt and black bass that's nothing more than a cut foam cylinder mounted on the hook with a tail hot glued into the bum
I don't really care what the tail is made of, it's primary purpose is so that the popper tracks straight during the cast.
Used bucktail, flash, synthetics, what ever ... it's all good and it's all recycled stuff...
the fish don't care

Betty, is that you?

I am just thinking, maybe if we sifted through and picked the better of the batch, box them up and send them to John for the donation thing.
