This is the photo that changed my life for photography. It was my first outing with my first DSLR and when I got home and saw the clarity, detail and color it captured, I never looked back. And this was an entry level Nikon with a stock lens. If you're on the fence about getting a DSLR and you like taking pictures. Just do it!

my goal in the snowstorms is to capture perfect little snowflakes clinging to their delicate feathers. Ive gotten some good ones in the past but all the stars have to align to capture it. the snowflakes weren't quite right today, but close...

Hi all,

I searched for a thread on good, basic, cameras to use in capturing my adventures fly fishing with no luck.

As I am still a "newbie" at fly fishing I've used my iPhone up till now. I need a better option as that's my phone and I don't want to pay for a new one.

I just want a basic camera that takes goods pics and could survive a brief dunking (bound to happen at some point right?). Worst case I guess I could buy a throw away but I would hope someone can suggest good options. I'd love a GoPro but for now my money goes into fishing gear and not the camera.

Dave
