Trout season in Kansas

KDWP has change the season to Novermber 1. In the past it has been around October 15th, but we are seeing another year of drought conditions.

Are there any trout streams in KS in the Northeast?

The little lake I fish in NE Okla(lake Pawhuska) is stocked with trout and opens the first of November also. It's not too far from Augusta, right down Hw 77. The lake is also in a drought and they may not be stocking for a while. Pray for rain!

No streams in the NE, except for Auburndale park in Topeka, so I'm told.--that's just stockers in the winter. Our waters are just to warm here for year round.

The closes thing to a trout stream in Kansas is the seep stream from the dam at Kanopolis Reservoir in the central part of the state. The state and a wichita flyfishing club have worked on it to create trout habitat, though I'm told they don't quite make it through the summer.

Slough Creek in Wichita is also stocked in winter.
