Ok.. it was really really cold and it snowed a bunch in the middle of the state and a bunch of people didn't make it...

But hey.... Let's hear it for our Trout Parks and good luck this year... Hopefully the floods from last year will not hurt us to bad this year...

Yeah, Hopefully the floods didn't mess up fishing this year. I know what you mean about the snow. I am really sick of it. I can't wait until the warm weather actually gets here (which is supposed to in the next couple days). Hopefully it will be here to stay soon. I can't wait to get out and go fishing.
If anyone goes to Bennett Springs this year, let me know how you do because I haven't been there yet and I was hoping to do that this summer if the weather permits it.

I didn't notice anything different last summer on my trip and the water was still up slightly. If memory serves, they had a fish kill in the hatchery due to a raceway getting swamped with runoff. I think it was the sumer before last. They said it wouldn't affect the fishing as they could cover the losses from other hatcheries.

I'd predict that the impact would be small.

Yes it was cold. March 1 opening weekend isn't really about fishing it is about getting together and being out with like minded people. In Mo they have been doing this since before WWII.

The record day around 71 degree's and 6000 tags sold for that day.. :&)
