 to the addiction Dave! Nice to have you here on the forum. I'm sure you will like fly fishing. I love fly fishing so much that I've sold all my baitcasters and spinning rods and reels and fly fish exclusively now for every species of fish I fish for including bass. If you father-in-law lives close enough you might ask him to teach you to cast. Otherwise check the local fly shops for lessons and even better ask the fly shop about Fly Fishing clubs in your area through clubs you can learn everything to do with fly fishing for free on much cheaper. Plus you might even find a good fishing buddy or two.

Attention New Fly Fishers and those just wanting to improve- Join a Fly Fishing Club. They have classes on every aspect of fly fishing for beginners to advanced for free or cheaper than offered elsewhere. Some offer mentor programs. You will make friends with other fly fishers. Clubs often have outings in which members pay special group rates for guides or to fish prime private access areas.
