Default Newbie from Tennessee

Greetings from Knoxville, TN! I've just discovered this forum and wanted to introduce myself before I start poking around, trying to learn something about this new hobby I'm diving into.My father decided to get back into flyfishing recently and talked me into giving it a shot as well. I have so far invested quite a bit of money (just to get started) so I hope I'm going to like it! The main things I lack right now are waders and the ability to stay out of the trees....

Welcome to the group! Poke around all you like.

On staying out of the trees, never forget that a roll cast can be one of the best ways to do this. Work on getting your roll casts to unroll with a short powerful loop instead of a big tall floppy one and you'll really be cooking with gas. (hint- using the other hand to grip the butt end of the rod to add some snap to the power stroke can help make this happen.)

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.
