Hi All
Just thought I would introduce myself, my name is Nick but my handle is an acronym for the title, an honour betsowed on me many years ago by my best mates sister who saw how much effort we put in to our fishing trips, and how few fish we actually caught
Anyway I am originally from South Africa, but now I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and for a long time in SA I course-fished competitively and fly fished on and off the whole time. But now that I am here and course-fishing is kinda non-existant I have decided to take my fly fishing to a new level.
I started tying flies in Dec 09 and am ferociously working my way to a point where I have "the basics"... which would be OK if I were only to target trout... well no it wouldn't, there are enough trout flies/variations/colours etc to keep one busy well past the grave... but you see if it swims I like to catch it... So I am preparing myself to be able to fish for trout, pike, walleye, goldeye, suckers and anything else that swims near me... which is a tough ordeal having started from scratch a few months ago. But here the season opens on May 8, and I will be ready.
Anyway, just thought I would say hi, and I hope to be an active contributor here on the forums. At the moment I am in a learning and absorbing state, so without a doubt my contributions will be questions at first, unless we're talking about carp, cos carp and I go waaaaay back... thanks for reading and catcha later!
Nick
