Default Michigander

Hello,

Iím Hunter, from SW Michigan where I spend most of my time fishing warm water lakes, rivers and streams for Bass and the occasional Pike. I have been fishing all my life and have just recently acquired my first fly rod. Although I spend most of my time fishing Bass I do have a cabin in the middle of the Manistee National Forest that apparently is in close proximity to some descent trout fishing. I hope to dabble a little more into Trout and Steelhead now taking up fly fishing.

I have been lurking and reading all of the useful information on this site and figured it was time to register. Thanks to all who have taken the time to share their knowledge so beginners like my self have a place to start. Considering I donít know a whole lot about fly fishing Iím sure my post are going to be question based until I am able to actually offer something.

Welcome to the forum and flyfishing. You have a good spot for it there. Some pretty big fish are caught around there.

Hey No Time, welcome to the forum.

Feel free to ask questions as you have them, lots of folks here that are willing to help if they can. There's also some good info in the FAQ sections and in some of the past threads, so browse around and make your self at home here.

You've got some great water near your cabin. Some of the more famous streams are the Pere Marquette, Big and Little Manistee, Pine River and Bear Creek (both tribs of the Big Manistee) and the Au Sable.

Hey No Time, Welcome to the Forum...You've got some great Trout opportunities around where your cabin is; and down in SW MI as well.
